Of Horses, Dresses and Humidity

This week-end was slow and easy and that is just the way I like it when it's 30 degrees plus humidity outside.  I wonder if back at home in the Bay it's any cooler.

On Saturday morning Frances took me horseback riding with her. I rode a horse named Raven who really liked to stop and eat while everyone elses' kept moving.  However I was told that I was holding the reins so loosely that the horse thought I wasn't in control.  Once I tightened up on my grip on the reins he started to behave better.  He was a beautiful horse though.

Man are those animals high up though! You see they are tall when you're standing on the ground but it's completely different when you're sitting on their back.  Getting up there was interesting and a task my short legs did not assist me with.  Let's just say I learned very quickly that I need to work out more cause it was real fun trying to launch myself up on him.  The other thing I think horses teach people is how NOT in control they are. If that horse decides to bolt and run or go somewhere you don't want it to, you are very limited in what you can do.  It's definitely a good lesson for those that are control freaks if they can stay on a horse without having a panic attack because they can't control the animal then they are doing ok.

After I got home I decided to bite the bullet and go for my last dress fitting instead of putting it off so I could be home when my parents arrived.  It is finally done.  No more is required from me other than to wear it.  7 days left!
